The ROCK is Saskatchewan’s only 24-hour commercial Christian radio station. We have been blessed to grow from a 50-watt, low-power station (January 2006) to a 50,000-watt station that can be heard throughout eastern Saskatchewan and even into western Manitoba.

The ROCK continues to be a Christian radio station that depends on the sale of commercial advertising. Therein lies the challenge: The ROCK has established a loyal audience and a supportive advertising base; however, for some businesses, this audience is deemed too small or simply not important. And as many other Parkland businesses, we find ourselves in a challenging season. Rock personnel have experienced serious health issues, resulting in additional strain on an already small staff. In addition, The ROCK is weathering the same tough economic climate as many other Parkland businesses. We have considered other options, but we are absolutely convinced that we need to continue as a Christian radio station.

So we’re inviting supportive listeners to become a “FRIEND OF THE ROCK” by making a special gift or an ongoing donation to The ROCK. Allan Hunsperger, the founder of 6 Christian radio stations, has come alongside The ROCK with his charitable ministry, Heritage Christian Ministries, so we can now give a          tax-deductible receipt to those wishing to make a donation to Friend of the Rock. If you feel led to sign up as a Friend of the Rock, your donation will be used for the day-to-day operation of the station and for future expansion.

Cheque donations can be made out to Heritage Christian Ministries and mailed to The Rock 98.5. We will also accept cash, or you could make a donation by credit card by clicking on the Love The Rock banner above; simply earmark your donation with Love The Rock - Yorkton.

God bless you!
